Where do you get your style inspiration from? As well as your photography? Beautiful! :)
Thank you! I get a lot of my inspirations from my experiences, my surroundings, the 60’s & 70’s, old movies, dreams, music, etc. Style-wise, I usually try to just pick out what I like, without thinking about it fitting into my “style”. But I am drawn to loser fabrics, neutral colors, lace, crochets, and dresses. If I had to pick style icons they would be the Olsen’s, Johnny Depp, and Clemence Poesy.
how do you stay confident?
do you find yourself ever wondering if someone is going to steal the one you love?
stuff like that...
If I ever start to get down on myself or a little insecure I just try to think about all of the good things I have to look forward to, and the people that love me. I’ll make sure to get up out of my bed, dress in one of my favorite things, eat something good, and do something that makes me happy that day. I don’t really worry about someone stealing anyone away from me because I have a lot of people to love and a lot of people that love me. If they chose to leave my life there’s nothing I can really do about it, but be happy with the time I had with them.
Hey Mattie, I'm Fab from Austria, i have 2 questions for you ;)
first: are there some photos taken analog on your tumblr and flickr? if not, how do you make them look so kind of "vintage"?
and the second question is a bit strange i think:
are you never in bad temper? :) if yes, what are you going to do then?
Thanks, and please continue with this wonderful art!
No they aren’t analog. I think it’s just the way that I set up my photo shoots. By using the clothing….the light…but I do use a little bit of editing on photoshop. I do get a temper occasionally, who doesn’t!? I try keep to myself as to not put anyone else in a bad mood, unless the situation calls for me to use confrontation. After that I’ll just try to be alone for a little while and do something that makes me smile like talking to my family/friends from home, drawing, photographing…the good stuff. :)
i love your style :) what are your favorite stores??
That’s sweet of you, thank you! I have worked with the Urban Outfitters company for about 5 years, so it would be a lie if I said I didn’t take A LOT of advantage of my good discount. As well as there I also do a lot of thrifting & the occasional forever 21 trip.
hi mattie! i'm a photographer myself and i love love love all of your pictures and your online portfolio. i was just wondering what you use to edit your photos because i'm always looking for something better to use :)
Thank you so much! I honestly don’t do too much editing on my photographs. I had a lightroom trial for while, but mainly I just use the most basic photoshop.
Hi, Mattie! I'm from Brasil and it's been a while since I first saw your pictures on your flickr. Your work is amazing! It's so fresh and lovely. And somehow, they always make me feel so positive and happy. Your images are an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work!
And I really hope all your dreams come true.
Wow all the way from Brasil! That’s amazing that someone all the way over there has seen my work. Thanks so much for keeping up with me and putting a smile on my face. You’re very sweet.
As I was relaxing with my favorite breakfast/ snack this morning I thought “this is so good that I should share it.” I always struggle with finding a breakfast that really wakes me up and makes me feel good. Try this smoothie!
Fat Free Organic Plain Yogurt
Rice Milk [Too much soy milk isn’t good for women]
Organic Raspberries or Strawberries [If you’re going to buy one thing organic it should be your berries, due to all of the pesticides sprayed on them in the fields.]
Your hair is gorgeous! I have always wanted the natural looking curls... just wondering what you do with it? Do you blow dry it or let it air dry?
P.S. Your photography is amazing! I hope you are having a beautiful day! ♥
You’re sweet, thank you. I do absolutely nothing to my hair (this includes brushing it) haha.
"Photography has taught me to see the beauty in the human body…hands, collar bones, spines, & jawlines. The next time someone doubts that they are beautiful, they should remember that we are all the same. We all have hands & collar bones, spines & lovely jawlines, but in a different way that makes us each even more beautiful. "
